“Expect nothing so there’s no disappointment.”

I believe in this. I tell myself to “expect nothing” all the time.
But it never works because you see, it takes a lot for someone to HONESTLY EXPECT NOTHING. In the back of your mind, you’re always going to be wishing and hoping; expecting. You’re always going to hold onto that last sliver of hope. When you finally reach the point of expecting nothing, it’s when you’ve really given up everything and had your heart somewhat broken endless times.
So really, I put up a front of “expecting nothing” but inside, I’m really expecting everything.
