If I had to choose only one thing as the most important lesson I learned this past weekend, it would be that

unconditional love does not mean unconditional approval.

Don’t give excuses to yourself saying ‘oh God loves me for who I am’ or ‘my parents have to accept me for who I am because they love me’. Just because they love you does not mean that they approve of your choices. Don’t try to justify your actions by simply saying ‘He loves me unconditionally’ because yes, He does in fact love you very much, but because of that very fact, He wants you to be obedient, He wants you to be the best, He wants you to choose what’s right.

Long story short: I love love love love you but I don’t agree with what you’re doing.

About:

"By definition, love made you better than good enough; it refined perfection to include your traits, instead of excluding them. All any of us wanted, really, was to know that we counted. That someone else’s life would not have been as rich without us here."
