This is the same thing as saying “ignorance is bliss.” - If you don’t know something, does it necessarily mean you’re better off? I’m still on the rope about that.

^ Yeah. I don’t think I agree with either statement. Ignorance & the less you care sounds a bit stuck up, prideful, & immature.

I, on the other hand, actually agree with this statement. Of course there are exceptions, but it’s true, the less you allow yourself to care, the less pain and infliction you put on yourself. I’m not saying that you should numb yourself, but if you don’t allow certains things to bother you, you’ll have a lot less on your plate. I remember when my boyfriend and I first broke up two years back…man I was a wreck. I cared so much about who he was hanging out with, what he was doing, how he seemed to be doing without me. After two weeks of going though that, I decided to go by the famous phrase “ignorance is bliss”. I deactivated my Facebook and told my friends, “don’t talk to me about him at all, I don’t want to know anything about him.” Dang it was such a big difference! I started to really move on and really be happy again. It helped me get through all the pain.

Don’t be ignorant, but don’t care too much either. This world needs some love but don’t keep putting yourself out there to get hurt.

About:

"By definition, love made you better than good enough; it refined perfection to include your traits, instead of excluding them. All any of us wanted, really, was to know that we counted. That someone else’s life would not have been as rich without us here."
